Lucy Shaw was a founder member of the contemporary music-theatre group The
Gogmagogs, which created shows working with theatre director Lucy Bailey and
various composers and script writers, including Django Bates and John Tavener.
Lucy plays double bass with Chroma Ensemble, Tango Siempre and popular artists
such as Katie Melua and Bat For Lashes.
She records in orchestral sessions and works as a freelance double bass player
in London. She has played live with Jay Z, Corduroy and Nitin Sawhney and
recent recordings include Independent Opera, The Streets, The Hours and Slovo.
This year sees the completion of an album with Oi Va Voi, Travelling The
Face Of The Globe and an album with The Rag And Bone Club, As It Happens.
Lucy
is a member of the Wigmore Halls Creative Ensemble and is currently composing
and playing with The Cookie Cartel, an improvisatory trio with Dave Randall
and Frank Byng. She has been touring with the Hofesh Schecter contemporary
dance company, playing and improvising in the live band, and has recently
written string arrangements for the Noisettes new album. Pictured below with
the Urban Soul Orchestra, Lucy is also a mentor at Trinity College of Music
for the masters course.

Lucy has been working with Glenn Tilbrook and the Fluffers since 2004, recording
CD 'Transatlantic Ping Pong' and touring the UK and US extensively. On the
new album, 'Pandemonium Ensues', she also takes lead vocals on the track 'Product'
and wrote the album's string arrangements.

Lucy has also worked with Continuum Ensemble, Tete A Tete, Jamie Callum, Ian
Broudie, Ben Taylor, Pavarotti, Paul McCartney, Julian Lloyd Webber, Divine
Comedy, Joby Talbot, Aled Jones, Karl Jenkins, Primal Scream, Beth Orten,
Doves, Travis, Kasabian, Beyonce and others.
